Do I have to report unemployment income?

Yes, you should. The IRS counts unemployment as taxable income, although if your only income for the year was unemployment, you may not owe any taxes. More info.

TurboTax will ask about your unemployment, which is reported on Form 1099-G, and help you enter all the necessary information. See Form 1099-G
At the state level, some states do not consider unemployment income to be taxable.
Just enter your information and we’ll let you know if you owe any federal or state taxes.
