Can I deduct union dues, and where do I enter them in the mobile app?
In a union? Here's how to deduct your dues in the mobile app:
Go into your return. If you're not sure you're in there, tap the orange Take me to my return button.
- Tap the menu icon in the upper left
- Select Federal Taxes, then Deductions & Credits
- Scroll down and tap Employment expenses, then Job Expenses for W-2 Income
- On the Employment Expenses Related to a W-2 screen, swipe left
- On the expenses screen, which asks if you have union dues, tap Yes
- Swipe left and follow the instructions
