What forms do I need to include on my 1040 mail in?

The TurboTax printout indicates I only need to include W-2's, but I've got several 1099's that all show income.  My understanding was you need to include any documentation that shows income.  Thanks in advance!

What forms do I need to include on my 1040 mail in?

They primarily want forms attached to the return that show income tax withheld. Below is the official instructions.  If your 1099's don't show any income tax withheld, you do not need to attach them.

From the form 1040 instructions

Assemble any schedules and forms behind Form 1040 in order of the “Attachment Sequence No.” shown in the upper right corner of the schedule or form. If you have supporting statements, arrange them in the same order as the schedules or forms they support and attach them last. Do not attach correspondence or other items unless required to do so. Attach Forms W-2 and 2439 to the front of Form 1040. If you received a Form W-2c (a corrected Form W-2), attach your original Forms W-2 and any Forms W-2c. Attach Forms W-2G and 1099-R to the front of Form 1040 if tax was withheld.

Hope that helps.

IRS TAX TIP 2001-30 - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-news/at-01-30.pdf
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR TAX RETURN FOR MAILING
WASHINGTON -- Your tax return is complete and ready to be mailed. Before
sealing that envelope, take a few minutes to make certain that all information is
complete and accurate. Avoid mistakes that may delay your refund or result in
correspondence with the IRS.
Here are just a few items to complete prior to mailing your tax return:
Sign your return. Your federal tax return is not considered a valid return
unless it is signed. If you are filing a joint return, your spouse must also
sign.
Provide a daytime phone number. This may help speed the processing of
your return if the IRS has questions about items on your return. If you are
filing a joint return, you may provide daytime phone numbers for either you
or your spouse.
Assemble any schedules and forms behind your Form 1040/1040A in the
order of the "Attachment Sequence No." shown in the upper right hand
corner of the schedule or form. For supporting statements, arrange them in
the same order as the schedules or forms they support and attach them
last.
Attach a copy of Forms W-2, W-2G and 2439 to the front of Form 1040.
Also attach Forms 1099-R if tax was withheld.
Use the coded envelope included with your tax package to mail your return.
If you did not receive an envelope, check the section called "Where Do You
File?" inside the back cover of the your tax instruction booklet. You may be
mailing your return to a different service center this year because the IRS
has changed the filing location for several areas to provide better customer
service.
If you owe tax, make your check or money order payable to the "United
States Treasury." Write your name, address, Social Security number,
daytime telephone number and "2000 Form 1040" (or appropriate form
number) on your payment. Then complete Form 1040-V following the
instructions on that form and enclose it in the envelope with your payment.
Do not attach the payment to your return.
For more information, refer to your tax instruction booklet or visit the IRS Web
site at www.irs.gov

What forms do I need to include on my 1040 mail in?

I am trying to complete my brother's tax return.  He passed away last October.  I have received an EIN number for him but don't know if that is to be used on the tax form.  Also, there is rental property involved so I have schedules I have not had before.  What sheets of paper go with the return?  Am sending the Letters of Testamentary but just don't know how much of the things I have printed out are supposed to go to the IRS.

Every federal tax return form and schedule has an Attachment Sequence Number located in the upper right corner of the form or schedule.  In the My Info section of the program when entering his personal information make sure that you indicted that he passed away and the date of his passing.

The decedents tax return can be e-filed.  See this TurboTax support FAQ - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/e-file/help/can-i-e-file-a-tax-return-for-someone-who-is-deceased/...

Schedule 1 - Attachment Sequence Number 01

Schedule E - Attachment Sequence Number 13

Form 8995 - Attachment Sequence Number 55

Form 4562 - Attachment Sequence Number 179

I did e-file.

What forms do I need to include on my 1040 mail in?

If you efiled you do not have to mail anything in.  That is the benefit of efiling.  Only if the IRS sends you a letter asking for more info or a copy of something.
