If you kept every sales receipt from last year – we’re impressed! You can just add up the amount you spent and enter it in the Sales Tax section of Deductions & Credits. Select Enter All My Receipts.
Otherwise, the easiest way to figure this out is by using our sales tax EasyGuide. Here’s how to get there:
- Open (continue) your return and search for where do I enter sales tax (use this exact term)
- Click the “Jump to” link in the search results
- When asked how you want to enter your sales tax info, choose EasyGuide
Then, we’ll walk you through the rest.
If you can’t reach it through the “Jump to” link, go to Deductions & Credits and choose what you work on. Then go to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid. You’ll see Sales Tax in that list of topics.
