What if I missed the October 22 deadline to re-submit my rejected return?
Although you can no longer e-file a 2015 return, you can still file by mail the old-fashioned way. Simply click File and follow the onscreen instructions to file by mail. (Be sure to do this by November 15 shutdown date if using TurboTax Online.)
If you owe taxes, do this as soon as you can to minimize your penalties.
On the other hand, if you're getting a refund on your 2015 tax return, you have until April 15 of 2019 (October 15 with extension) to paper-file your return before the statute of limitations expires. After that, any unclaimed 2015 refunds become the property of the U.S. Treasury.
Note: If you can't get back in to finish and file your TurboTax Online return, find out how to finish up in the TurboTax software.
