Good news! If you use your vehicle for medical reasons, some costs may be deductible if you can itemize your deductions.
If all of your itemized deductions exceed your standard deduction, and all your medical expenses exceed 10% (7.5% if you are over age 65) of your adjusted gross income (AGI), the miles driven for medical purposes can add to your itemized deductions. You can use actual expenses, such as gas, oil, tolls and parking (but not maintenance or insurance), or we'll help you calculate the standard mileage rate for your miles driven. Be sure to keep daily written records of the purpose and miles for each trip.
Those are a lot of ifs (common in taxes!), but in the Deductions & Credits section, TurboTax will ask you questions and include every deduction you qualify for.
