Error 1109 when opening tax return
Error 1109 occurs when attempting to open (continue) a tax return in TurboTax for Windows desktop software. The program then closes.
This error is caused by damaged or corrupted program files.
To resolve this issue:
- Uninstall TurboTax.
- Browse to the TurboTax [version] 20XX folder (replace [version] with Basic, Deluxe, etc., and XX with the calendar year) The default path to this folder is C:\Program Files\TurboTax.
- Right-click the folder, choose Delete, and then click Yes or OK to confirm.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall TurboTax.
