What is a 1099-DIV?

Form 1099-DIV, dividends and distributions, reports dividend income you received from your investments.

If you received dividend income during the tax year, your broker or financial institution should send you this form (or a substitute or consolidated statement) by February 1 of the following year.

As with any 1099 form, keep it with your tax records.
