Error 42014: No response was received during the time-out period for a request

Error 42014: No response was received during the time-out period for a request occurs when attempting to download an update.

Possible Causes

  • Your computer's Internet connection or router may be configured incorrectly.
  • Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may be experiencing a technical problem.
  • The Intuit Update Server may be experiencing a technical problem.

Workaround

To temporarily work around this issue, you can download a manual update instead.

If the problem reappears or if a manual update does not solve it, follow these steps:

  1. Be sure your Internet connection is working properly.
  2. Retry updating by using Check for Updates in the Online menu in TurboTax.
  3. If updating fails, wait and try again later or download a manual update.
