Message: "The email addresses below don't match" when attempting to e-file

On the Confirm Your Email Address screen, which appears as you're getting ready to e-file your tax return, the following text appears:

You entered an invalid e-mail address or the addresses you entered do not match. Make any necessary corrections here.

Be sure you are using this format: name@domain.com.

The email addresses below don't match.

However, the content in both the Email Address and Confirm Email fields looks identical to you.


Although the two entries may look identical, they are not.

Most likely, there is a space after one of the email addresses, which you can't see.

To resolve, clear out both fields (make sure to press the Backspace and also the Delete key several times to ensure the fields are completely empty) and then re-enter your email address in both fields.
