If you are using TurboTax online to file your tax return, you are filing a 2019 tax return regardless of the information you entered being 2018 information. Only current year (2019) returns can be electronically filed using TurboTax online.
In order to file a 2018 tax return using TurboTax, you must purchase and download the TurboTax software. Then, the return must be mailed to the IRS for processing.
See the following TurboTax article for more details: How do I prepare a prior year tax return?

If you are asking whether you can check the status of your stimulus payment after sending in the amended return, then the answer is yes. However, do not expect any information for a very long time.
Under normal circumstances, amended returns take up to 16 weeks to be processed by the IRS. As of right now, mailed returns (including amended returns) are not being processed at all due to the Covid-19 situation.
You can use the following link to check the status of your amended return: Where's My Amended Return?

The search results will give you an option to “ Jump to schedule c ”
Click on the blue “ Jump to schedule c ” link
Click delete or the trash can icon next to the Schedule C that you wish to remove from your return.

No, if the electronically filed return was rejected by the IRS, then the IRS does not have that tax return.
If the return had been corrected and resubmitted, then accepted by the IRS or if the return had been printed and filed by mail, then the IRS would have the return on file.
You will not receive a stimulus check based on a return that was technically never filed. You will need to file your 2019 return or register using one of the non-filer applications (if you are not required to file a return) in order to receive a stimulus check.

Did you submit your information through one of the non-filer applications in order to get your stimulus payment? There are non-filer options either through TurboTax or the IRS.
If so, when using the non-filer system on the IRS website, your information is processed by the IRS as an original filed return.
Any subsequent filing submitted electronically will be rejected and must be mailed to the IRS for processing.
You can do this in a couple of different ways:
You can create and file an amended return with Form 1040X, which will be processed by the IRS as an amended return.
Or , you can complete your Form 1040 information using TurboTax and include a cover letter with the return to explain that you completed the non-filer registration for the stimulus check and that this is your correct tax return. Instead of the cover letter, you can also write ' 1040X Amended Return ' on the top of your Form 1040 before you sign and mail it.
Don't forget that when you mail a paper return to the IRS, you must include copies of your W-2s and 1099s, plus you need to sign and date the return.

To go to the section of the tax return to enter information about your self-employed retirement plan contribution, use these steps:
On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
This opens a box where you can type in “ self-employed retirement ” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find )
The search results will give you an option to “ Jump to self-employed retirement ”
Click on the blue “ Jump to self-employed retirement ” link and enter your information
Be sure that you are actually in the tax return itself before you enter the search term 'self-employed retirement'. If you are not inside the return, the search does not work as expected.
Another way to get to the self-employed retirement section is to go to the Income & Expenses section of your return. Then scroll to the Other Business Situations section. Click Start beside Self-Employed Retirement Plans.

It depends on where you performed your work.
If you worked from inside the United States, teaching online, then your income is United States income. If you were physically located in Africa when doing your teaching, then your income is foreign income based in Africa.

Yes, you can file your Federal return now and pay your balance due any time before the due date of July 15, 2020. Filing your return should be used to determine your eligibility for a stimulus payment. These payments are being made throughout the year, so there is not a deadline to be met associated with filing your tax return to qualify for the stimulus payment.
After your tax return has been accepted by the IRS, you can check the status of your stimulus payment using Get My Payment.
