Hi. I just upgraded my Window7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. I am pretty technical and it was difficult since I could not use the upgrade procedure. It failed many times and I could not work around that. I eventually did a clean install (keep files, not apps) from a USB stick. I still had to evaluate and reinstall the software I use. TT has bought users another year, but due to Microsoft's decision to end of life Windows 10, eventually everyone will need to upgrade/migrate. Good malware and anti-virus software will help, but without security updates, you leave yourself at risk. If we can figure out a way to communicate privately I am pretty sure I can get you going with Windows 10. Let me know.

Hi, TT (along with other vendors) may want to reconsider this move if Microsoft will extended the end of life of Win 7. Why would Microsoft do this? Microsoft is issuing security critical alerts (it has been in the press) one after an other. The update process is unstable and they have published workarounds. They are retrofitting the Win 10 update to be more like Win 7 (users can select critical versus optional updates). Until this is stable, I will NOT upgrade to Win 10. TT should take this into consideration. It has the clout to put pressure on Microsoft.

Hi All, I understand the security concern, but like many others I am not a fan of Windows 10. It is nowhere as stable as Windows 7 (not to mention the disaster called Windows 8/8.1). There are numerous tech articles out there telling people about the vulnerabilities; they seem weekly. If TT2019 will not install on WIN7 and there is no compatibility mode option, then we are stuck. Creating a virtual WIN10 machine is certainly a way to go, but it will require a brand new WIN 10 license and it will not be eligible for a WIN7 to WIN10 upgrade (because you still have WIN 7 running). Intuit SHOULD create and deliver a VM to run TT. It could be LINUX based and be done with it. I doubt they will do that. As far as security since it would be compartmentalized it would be super secure. Intuit was once an excellent company and over the years has deteriorated in responsiveness to customer needs. It is more focused on licensing and profit. Unfortunate.
