The correct account would not have anything to do with a TurboTax download or CD software. The correct account have to do with the TurboTax online software. The online software autosaves.

The TurboTax download software is not an autosave program. You must manually save your work. By default, TurboTax saves your .tax file in a TurboTax folder that is located in your Document folder in Windows or the Document folder in Mac. If you are using Windows, open File Explorer (the yellow folder in your dock) and click on "This PC" in the left menu. Now, click on "Local Disk" and type in (.tax) in the search on the upper right of the folder. Windows will search the drive for the file. If the file isn't there and not in your trash, it was not saved. I know some people believe that they save the files but if it is saved, it will show up on the hard drive. Always save your file as you go, especially if you have been putting a lot of hours into it because the software doesn't autosave. If your power goes out and you had 10 hours of work without saving, you will lose it.

@PLNADLER If you have to do this, it is obvious an apple issue. Why would TurboTax not work on the same PC if it were a TurboTax issue? The new Catalina has caused issues for a lot of software and Apple always says they do not handle issues with 3rd party software .. If this were a PC and you called Dell, they would have tried to fix the issue. Unfortunately, Apple Tech Support can't help with anything but Apple even when their upgrades cause the issue. I am glad it worked for you, but having to create a new user is ridiculous. Apple should try to figure out why it didn't work on your current user. That is one of the solutions for this issue and I am glad it worked for you. I need to find our from Apple why this works with a new user on the same MAC but not on the current MAC. It is obviously a MAC issue.

theobanks57, to change your email to get the verification code, you must go to the menu (dark gray section) on the left and click on Intuit Account. If you do not see "Intuit Account," click on "Tax Home" at the top left, and "Intuit Account" is on the bottom left. Once you click on "Intuit Account," It will open the "Account Settings" page in a new tab. Update your email address from the Account Settings page and you should be able to get your email to file. Also, if you need help, call customer support at 1-800-4-Intuit ([phone number removed]).

The errors are most commonly caused by corrupted or missing dynamic-link library (DLL) files. These errors usually occur when a program mishandles the file during use. The problem happens within the Windows registry, where applications look up the location of DLLs they need.
