I received a 1099 G from the Iowa Dept of Revenue
, do I need to claim this refund on my 2016 federal return, if so does it go under wages & income?

Was the 1099-G sent for state or local tax refund? or was it for unemployment?

You would enter the State or local refund information reported on the 1099-G, in TurboTax, by doing the following:
- Log in to your TurboTax Online account, or open your TurboTax CD/Download program
- Click to Continue your return/Take me to my return
- Click on Federal Taxes (choose the option: I'll choose what I work on, if offered)
- Click on Wages & Income
- Locate Other Common Income, and click to Show More
- Locate Refunds Received for State/Local Tax Returns and click Start or Edit
