Forms 1040EZ and 1040ZA are indeed free.

I filed a 1040A and was trying to free file and was still charged for the deluxe version.  They make it nearly impossible to directly contact them about it.

Did you ask to have your 2016 info transferred into 2017? You must use Deluxe for that.
