Paying my tax due

Is there a specific date I need to pay this? I don't remember how it was entered in on my tax return.

Paying my tax due

You can verify the date selected by first signing into your TurboTax Online account or open your CD/Download software.

Next  go to Taxes at the top of the page, then down to My Tax Timeline.

Then scroll down to the section that says "Some things you can do".

In that section you will see the option to "Add a state", but you aren't actually adding a state, this will just get you back into your return.

Next go to the File tab and you can then revisit the section that states when/how you wanted your taxes paid.

Note: If the payment date selected has already passed and the money has not been debited, please see the following TurboTax FAQ for additional information:

During non-peak times, funds are usually withdrawn on the payment date you specify, assuming your e-filed return has already been accepted (received) by the IRS.

If that date happens to fall on a weekend or federal holiday, the funds are typically withdrawn the next business day.

Now, if you filed right before (or on) the busy April 18, 2017 deadline, the IRS may not be able to debit your payment until after the deadline, due to high e-filing volume. In addition, it can take your bank another few days to post the debit to your account.

No worries; as long as you filed your return or extension on or before April 18, 2017 and you selected April 18, 2017 (or earlier) as your payment date, you won't get penalized for late payment.

In the meantime, keep an eye on your bank account – if you still don't see the debit 7-10 days after your return has been accepted, call IRS e-file Payment Services at 1-888-353-4537 or contact your state tax agency, as appropriate.
