Where is Schedule D in TTAX 2016
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If you are using the desktop product - which the icon next to your name suggests - then the way you "look at" Schedule D is to go into Forms mode, (click the "Forms" icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen), and look at it there. However, you should not be entering information directly on Schedule D; if you do that you're just using TurboTax as an expensive typewriter and missing the utility of the program which is provided by the interviews.
To enter your trades you use the "Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other" interview. The information you enter that way will first go onto Form 8949 and then summary information from Form 8949 will flow onto Schedule D.

If one purchased TurboTax Deluxe 2016 for desktop, they can get to Schedule D multiple ways:
If one is in the interview section and they see an optional upgrade screen, there is a button to continue in Deluxe.
