Last year $2,500 was applied to my 2018 federal estimated taxes. Where do I enter that.

Last year $2,500 was applied to my 2018 federal estimated taxes. Where do I enter that.

You can enter the amount applied to your 2018 tax by following these steps:

  • In TurboTax, open your tax return
  • Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then Deductions & Credits on top of the screen
  • Scroll down to All tax breaks, locate the section named Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and click Show more
  • Click on Start next to Income taxes Paid
  • On the next year, click Yes
  • On the next page, click Start next to 2017 refund applied to 2018 federal taxes (see attached screenshot)
