If I moved to a different state in 2017, should I be using 2016's AGI that is provided on Turbo Tax or do I need last year's W2?

You would use your 2016 AGI that is provided on TurboTax. Your moving does not change your AGI. This was your adjusted gross income.

How to get last years' AGI:

  1. Locate it on last year's tax document

Form 1040 – Line 37

Form 1040A – Line 21

Form 1040EZ – Line 4

Form 1040NR – Line 36

Form 1040X – Line 1, Column A

      2. IRS transcript by visiting this link: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

      3. Transfer in your information from last year but you would need to be in the correct account. You can use our Account Recovery link to locate your correct account if you need help.

Your AGI is your adjusted gross income from your 2016 return.

Thank you! That's what I've been using, but my state taxes (where I moved from) have been rejected for the third time. The other information is correct, I'm not sure what is incorrect.

Do you have a rejection code?

Is that this number? IL1040-8000-2

This rejection occurs if the signature info you entered on the Illinois e-file agreement doesn't match what's on file with the Illinois Department of Revenue. See this link for information on trying to correct it. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2148276-e-file-rejection-error-il1040-8000-2-or-il1040-9900-2-plea...>

I have taken a look at that. Since I no longer have a IL-issued form of ID, should I select that I do not have a state-issued form of ID? Could that be the source of the issue? My AGI is correct.

Yes. Choose that since you do not have the ID.
