Since I am not having to pay and getting nothing back why can't I use the free turbo tax?

If you have not had any income then you do not need to file a tax return.

Do you have self-employment income?  You were posting from Self-Employed.

FREEDOM EDITION

You cannot enter a 1099Misc or self-employment income when you are using the Free Edition.  If you qualify, there is another free software program available from TurboTax which will allow you to enter self-employment income.
