Where do I add the amount I paid in self-employment taxes?

I am filling out my business tax information and the amount that Turbo Tax is calculating for my self-employment taxes is different than the amount I paid. Is there somewhere I will be entering the actual paid amount?

Where do I add the amount I paid in self-employment taxes?

Yes, if you are referring to estimated taxes (which include income as well as self employment taxes) paid in 2016:

To enter estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local)

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  • On Estimates, click on the start or update button

Click Start or Update next to the taxes you paid in 2016

OR:

  • Type in estimated taxes paid in the search box, top right of your screen, then click the magnifying glass

  • Click the jump to estimated taxes paid  ink in the search results
