If you have children:
Make sure you have entered your child(ren) as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment. If your child was born in 2021make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
If you have income earned from working the software will put your earned income credit on line 27a of your Form 1040 if you are eligible for that credit.
If your children are under the age of 18 the child tax credit will be on line 28. If you already received the advance payments last year between July and December then the other "half" of the child tax credit will be on line 28
If you did not receive the 3rd stimulus check of $1400 per person, use the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review to get the credit which will show up on line 30.
