Does federal withholding on 403B withdrawals count as estimated tax payments?

I took a large withdrawal from my 403b Savings Account in January 2018, and had 20% withheld.  Can I count that as an estimated 2018 tax payment?

Does federal withholding on 403B withdrawals count as estimated tax payments?

Yes. Although "withholding" is entered separately from "estimated tax payments" in TurboTax (TT) and on the IRS forms, both count towrds meeting you total tax liability for the year. Withholding goes on line 64 of form 1040 and estimates on line 65 (lines 40 and 41  on 1040A). You will get a form 1099-R for the 403B withdrawal. Federal witholding will be in box 4. TT will automatically place that on line 64 of form 1040 (line 40 on 1040A)

In what respect?  You wouldn't need that information on the 2017 return for anything.   Are you trying to get an estimate for 2018 taxes?
