WV ONLINE TAX RETURN WAS ACCEPTED BUT NOW WV CHARGING INTEREST FOR DOCUMENTS NEEDED
My WV tax return was accepted. $154 refund due but WV is now stating I still owe $2000 original tax plus interest because 1099 and K-1 were not submitted with return. No where in the process did TurboTax ask me to upload those docs. Plus, in the instructions it clearly stated Do Not Mail Your Return, WV already has it. Shouldn't the return have been rejected? I followed TurboTax instructions, NOW WHAT!!!

You are required to disclose all income in your tax return regardless of where it came from.
Did you enter the 1099 into TurboTax? How would they know you got a 1099? They do not get any information on return once accepted by the IRS. When you received your K-1 you were instructed to file it with your return . Did you include the K-1? How is the tax preparation company supposed to know that you received a K-1?
You should correct the return to include this income both federal and state.

@Affordabletaxes2021 your response addressed a federal return. While your response is correct for a federal return, the question pertains to a West Virginia state tax return. Some states do require paper copies of some documents be emailed, even if you e-file the state tax return. I don't know if WV is one such state.
