Would it better for us to file jointly or for me to file as head of house?

Wife stopped working in April and we got married in May sense then she is a Homemaker.

If you are married & living together you cannot file as Head of Household. Your filing status is based on what it was on the last day of the tax year. The better filing status would be Married Filing Joint.
