If you worked as a hair stylist and received a W-2, you are an employee and can use any version of TurboTax. But if you ran your own business, you were self-employed and you will report your income and expenses on Schedule C. It looks like you are using TurboTax Self-Employed which is the version you need for self-employment. See below for instructions on how to set-up/enter your Schedule C. After you have your business profile set-up, you can enter any income and related expenses to determine your gross profit which will be transferred to your Form 1040 tax return.
Where do I enter Schedule C? In TurboTax, it can be found under Self-Employment income and expenses..
What self-employed expenses can I deduct? List of industry-specific deductions (Barbers and beauticians have their own category)
