Worked a new job this year, but have not received my W-2. I would like to file today to get my $30 discount. Is there any way I can do this? I have the income/tax $.

You really should go by the W-2 if you can get it soon.  There's often some additional information on it, but there is a way to file a mailed paper return without it as a last resort.  I'll mention a bit more below.

But if you want to lock in the early-season price, we can tell you how to pay in advance for your Online product, if you wish.   This is the last day for the discounts.  Prices go up March 1.  I'm not sure if that's at midnight tonight in one's particular time zone, midnight tonight Pacific time for everyone, or what.

[ADDENDUM:  I went ahead and left the instructions to pay in advance in my next answer that follows this one.]

The early season discount savings is "up to $30", so it varies depending on the product.

Have you contacted your employer (or payroll services provider) to inquire about your W-2 and asked for a replacement copy?   One is supposed to contact the IRS if a W-2 was not received by mid-February, and if still not forthcoming, one could go ahead and file using a "Substitute W-2" that TurboTax prepares on a special screen for Form 4852, but then the return cannot be efiled; the return would have to be printed and mailed.

[ADDENDUM:   I left some additional comments and 2 FAQs about a not-received W-2 in my next comment below.   I also went ahead and left info on how to pay for Online TurboTax in advance, if you wish.]

Here are the instructions that TurboTax provides for people who want to pay for their product in advance to lock in the price:

To get the discount now on federal and state products:

  1. Sign into TurboTax and open your return.
  2. In the left menu column select File.
  3. Next to Step 1, select Start.
  4. Review the order details.
  5. Scroll down and select View Payment Options.
  6.  To lock in state and federal-level pricing, under Payment method, select Credit Card.
  7. NOTE:  Users may purchase additional states or products later at current pricing.

If you do that, then of course, after completing the payment, do not continue on in that filing section.  After paying, get out of the File section and go back to the return interview.

If that doesn't work for you, there is another way to pay in advance that we can tell you about by going to the Print Center.

Also, here's more info about your lack of a W-2.   Some large employers or payroll services providers have a website where employees can download their W-2; you'd have to ask your employer.   Also some employers/payroll services are import partners with TurboTax.    If yours is, then you might be able to import the W-2 into TurboTax, but often you need something from the actual W-2 to perform the import.  But I'll provide this FAQ anyway for your information:
