I relocated to a different state. I own a house in the state I moved from and pay property taxes.

Will I need to file state taxes in the state that I moved from?

HI Snider20,

You would only pay income taxes in any state if income was earned in that state and there is a statutory State Income Tax, whether you were a RESIDENT or NON-RESIDENT.

One can live in a state for a given year and never earned any money to be taxed by that State.
