Yes. You get excess SS back if one person had more than 1 employer and those employers took out more than the max for Social Security tax in W2 box 4. Turbo Tax automatically calculates it. If you are married be sure to enter each W2 under the right spouse.
For 2025 the max for Social Security is $10,918.20 on $176,100 of wages.
The employer will continue to collect Social Security taxes on your wage even though you maxed out with the previous employer.
The excess SS taxes that were withheld will be entered on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 31 as a tax payment and included in your federal tax refund or it will reduce any taxes owed.
