Last year I paid AMT and this year, I do not have to pay AMT. Does that mean I am eligible for the AMT credit on the amount I paid last year?
Are there any other criteria I have to be aware of?

Due to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) signed into law by President Trump, the number of taxpayers subject to the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) should drop significantly in 2018 – over 95% according to some experts – due to higher exemptions and phase-out thresholds.
