You can e-file when all of your income has been entered and when all of your forms are ready. The IRS will not begin to accept/reject returns until January 29, so no reason to rush.

No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29. And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.
You can e-file your tax returns now if all the forms and schedules in your tax return have been finalized.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
However, the IRS will not start processing 2023 tax returns until 01/29/2024 so your e-filed return will be Pending awaiting the IRS to start pulling returns for processing.
if no issues are preventing you from e-filing you can do so now? However, the IRS won't open e-filing until 1/29 so it may be better to wait less you get a tax form after submitting. then if accepted you have to go through the amended return process.
