Hello, I am on H1b since 2017, I got married in 2019 and my wife came to USA in April 2019, we filed paper filing in 2019 to get her ITIN and electronic return in 2020. She left USA in May 2021 and returned to USA in End of July 2021 on F1. Is she considered a non resident alien for taxation ?. Can we do taxation electronically this year ?. Can we do married filing jointly or we should go for married filing separately ?

Yes, you can file married filing jointly since she has ITIN.
She qualifies as a resident for 2021 under the substantial presence test.
Yes you can file electronically this year
Thank you for the response. She has got SSN in december as she was able to find job on campus. So we should use SSN to file taxes ?.

If she has a SSN that is what you enter on your tax return. Make sure you enter her name on the tax return exactly as shown on the Social Security card.
