Why would my husband's W-2 lists his federal wages as 23232.27 and his Arizona state wages as $11864.68? He only works in Arizona. Employer had no input.

We went to his employer and they said no one else had reported issues yet (still early).  They said to contact a tax person.  He started with the company in February 2017.  They are incorporated in Delaware but the physical location is Arizona. I'm concerned this is an employer error.

You should go back to the employer and request to speak to the head of payroll. They need to explain to you why the state and federal wages are so different.  The explanation they gave (did not give) you was irrelevant and useless.
