Why was i charged at the time i filed my taxes in January and then again in March?

Ok ... either you paid for just the federal program then added a feature later like a state program   OR   you asked for the TT fees to be withheld from the federal refund but that refund was delayed or not sent so the third party processing bank debited your account for the fee not yet received.
