We cannot tell what software you are using.    Did you already pay?    If you discovered that you were using a paid version you need to ask questions before you pay if you were not expecting to pay.     If you entered any data that requires any of the three possible schedules that are part of the Form 1040 then you cannot use the Free Edition so it upgrades you to the online version needed----and alerts you to the upgrades as you go.

If you have not registered or paid yet, you can clear it and use the Free File software that will be available in mid-January.   It is not available yet.
