Why is Turbotax rejecting my E-FILING for my 2020 return? I received my new child's social security number only in December 2021, so he was left off the 2020 tax return.

The only change in my 2020 amendment is adding the social security number of a new child. AGI is the same. Verification all passed ok. No other changes. Still getting rejected with an error message saying Ie-file season for 2020 has been closed as of 12/31/2021. But I am filing AN AMENDMENT ? And Google shows Turbotax IS accepting Efiling for Amendements for 2020. Help ! Trying to avoid printing and mailing as that's cumbersome and risk of getting lost in the mail. Thanks!

Currently Turbo Tax is unable to e-file the 2020 amended return, which is why you are receiving the error.  

To file an amended return, please follow the instructions here.

Hi. Thanks, but elsewhere on the Intuint TT website it says one CAN efile 2020 amended returns. So this is contradictory. Maybe it it being worked on and in the future efile will become available ?

TurboTax is not capable of e-filing a prior-year amended return.  This was confirmed via an Investigation we submitted. 

The Help Article suggests that the 2020 amended return was out-of-date and has been adjusted, and a request has been submitted to fix the TurboTax Tax Tip article as well.  If you have any other concerns, please post them here and we will be happy to assist you.
