Currently, TurboTax Online doesn't offer an option to delete or remove uploaded CSV files after import. If the CSV cannot be properly calculated or processed, it may become stuck, requiring you to start over or manually correct the entries.
This is a known limitation in the system and can be frustrating. To resolve issues, you can try to manually delete the related investment or crypto entries by navigating to the specific investment or cryptocurrency section in your return and removing incorrect data.
To manually remove or correct CSV-imported data in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Wages & Income section.
2. Find the Investments and Savings area and select Start or Update next to Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B, 1099-DA).
3. Review your current investment entries.
4. Select the specific investment or crypto holding you want to remove or edit.
5. Choose the option to Delete or Remove the entry if available.
6. For corrections, edit the details directly within the entry.
If there's no delete option for the imported CSV as a whole, removing entries this way clears your data. You may then re-import or enter data again.
Thanks Cesar, this won't work for me though. There are over 8000 entries, it would take all month to edit each one manually. I've searched for every possible method and tried all of them, nothing works. Even clearing everything and starting the whole year's taxes over again didn't work. After getting it all set up again, those CSVs we're still there. This is a major functionality oversight on the part of Intuit that could easily be corrected. Crypto accounting is very complex and Intuit is rapidly falling behind in functionality here. Honestly I'm ready to close my account and go to a different service that handles it better. It's so unfortunate that I've been using TurboTax for so long and all my info is in there already. The last option for me is to call the support line and hope they can delete those CSVs from their end.
If you have any other advice or can submit feedback or a request for this simple feature change, it will probably keep thousands of people on the service who will likely otherwise give up on it due to the new strict reporting requirements for crypto and the lack of functionality here.
