Why is the service telling me on the very last step that I am ineligible to pay with my federal return despite meeting all of the requirements to do so?

I get to the very last submission step after filling out payment and deposit information and it then tells me that I cannot use my return as payment. I meet all the provided criteria (federal return enough, US address, e-filing, etc.), but it is saying I am ineligible. I spoke to an agent in support that said this has "been happening all week" but they "didn't know why it is doing that or how to help me".

Be sure you haven't selected incompatible options like 

• The "5 Day Early Refund" delivery. 
• Request a paper check
• Using a PO box,
• You don't have a Form 8888 allocation of Refund (Including Savings Bond Purchases)

Please...just pay with a Credit or Debit card.

(Opinion) Paying out of your refund is the worst way to pay your software fees. 

Sometimes it works out OK but hundreds/ Thousands of folks regret it every year when  their eventual remaining refund goes astray.
