Why is my Turbo Tax stuck on the prompt "Did either of you make money in any other state"? I presume this refers to W2 income not investment income?

The question refers to all income earned in another state, not just W-2 income. The program is asking so that it can preload the other state's income tax software.

But this doesn't mean you would be required to file a state return for that out of state income. That would depend on the filing requirements of the particular state that the income was earned in.
