Why is my 2021 refund higher than the one in 2020.

My refund this year is higher than what I made last year.

No one can see your account or your tax return so there could be lots of reasons.   Was something different about the amount of income you received?   Did you get a credit that you did not receive last year---like earned income credit, child tax credit or childcare credit?  

Print out 2020 and 2021 and compare them side by side to see what is different,

If your federal refund is higher than expected, it's because you had more federal income taxes withheld from your paychecks than the previous year. • Tip: If your refund is wildly off, you may have mistyped a dollar amount somewhere. An extra digit here, a missing number there, even a misplaced decimal point can have an eye-popping (but easily correctable) effect on your refund.
