Only one tax return can be filed using the TurboTax online editions.  If you try and file another tax return with the same Social Security number it will be rejected by TurboTax.

As DoninGA mentions above, you can only file one tax return using TurboTax Online. See this; How many tax returns can I file with TurboTax?

If you are using the TurboTax Desktop software, you can prepare up to 5 federal returns under your single installation.

In order to file two separate tax returns using TurboTax Online, you will have to use different accounts for each person.

TurboTax Online will only allow one (federal ) tax return per account/UserID. You will have to create a new, individual TurboTax account with a new User ID for the second tax return. If you use the same account the second tax return will overwrite the first return.

The IRS only allows one original tax return per Social Security number so the second tax return will likely be rejected by the IRS, unless you filed for a separate individual.

You can try searching your emails to see what acceptance emails you got from TurboTax.

If you have an online account with IRS.gov you will be able to view, download, or print your past tax returns and tax records directly using the "Get Transcript" tool or by logging into your Individual Online Account. Transcripts are available for the current and up to nine prior tax years. Using this, you may be able to tell what happened.

If you don’t already have an account on IRS.gov, you will be asked to create an account. You can use this link to create an online account Online account for individuals.
