Why is colorado state tax so high this year? I owe and I have never owed this much before?

It is advised that you review your State's instruction booklet to determine if there as been an increase in the year-end tax tables.

This is known to be the case.  Several states have increased their tax liability (income) tables, which have resulted in a reduction of refunds or have created balance due returns.

It is suggested that you review your return to ensure the amounts were entered correctly.  This may have caused the possible error.
