The TurboTax online editions can only be used for one tax return per account and User ID.  To start another tax return using the online editions you will need to create a new account with a new User ID and a new email address.

If you are using the Online version of TurboTax you will need to setup a new account using a new User ID.

Sign out of your current TurboTax account to avoid overwriting your previous return.

1. Go to TurboTax.com.
2. If your browser automatically logs you into the old account,
   1. Clear your browser's cache, cookies, and history
3. Enter your Email address
4. On the sign in page select New to TurboTax? 
5. Create an account
6. Enter your 
   1. User ID (Not the same as your previous account)
   2. Password
   3. Phone
7. Create an Intuit Account

However, if you're using the Desktop software, you can install  it on up to five computers.

1. Once you've downloaded and installed the software (Same procedure as the first time)
2. Log into turboTax
   1. File 
   2. New Tax Return to start a separate return.
   3. The software allows free e-filing for up to 5 federal returns.
   4. Additional state programs or e-files may require extra fees.
