Form 1099SA will show what was distributed, while Form 5498SA will show what was contributed.  Verify your 5498-SA shows the same contribution amount as your W2.  Additionally, did your employer also contribute to your HSA account?  If so, does the $8,550 include both yours and your employer's contributions? If not, this may be the issue.  Double-check your employer's HSA contributions, if any on your W2.

 

Other things to consider are any rollover contributions from prior years that may have been applied to the contributions for the current year.

Box 12W on her W-2 shows the total contributed to the HSA  - both yours and any employer matching.

Another possibility is that there was an over-contribution in 2024 that was not withdrawn. That would now count as a 2025 contribution
