Why does my refund change when I add my first kid, but not when I add the second or third?

You may  have reached the limit where more exemptions  will not help you ... look at the return before & after adding a dependent to see how it effects or doesn't effect the bottom line ... just switch to the FORMS mode and look at the form 1040.
