Why does my payment show completed on TurboTax website but SBTPG shows unfunded?

When SBTGP can't locate your account, it's possible the IRS may not have processed your return yet. Sometimes there's some information that is not accurate, and that results in delay the processing of acceptance.

“Unfunded” just means that SBTG is still waiting to receive the money from the IRS before they can issue your refund.

You must wait 24 to 48 hours after your return is accepted.

If 24-48 hours have passed, try to contact them directly.

I’ve been accepted since 01/23/26 so that does not seem possible. SBTPG can locate my account. It just continues to show unfunded on everything even though I have received my advance. I’ve contacted SBTPG and it says they have not received my return.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund. 

The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance, however, some may take longer if they require additional review. Also, by law, the IRS cannot issue EITC or ACTC refunds before mid-February. This applies to your entire refund, not just the portion related to those specific credits.
