You are probably seeing the $40 service charge for Refund Processing when you chose to have the TurboTax account fees paid from your federal tax refund instead of paying the fees with a credit card.

There is a fee for federal preparation and a state is a separate $50.  Then if you want to have the fees deducted from your federal refund there is a $40 Pay with Refund service charge which you can avoid by paying upfront with a credit card.
