Why do I need a social security number for my daughter when I am not claiming her?

If you enter her on your return and are claiming head of household you will need a social security number for her.

If you are not claiming anything for her, then you will need to delete her from your return. You can do this by logging in then clicking the following:

Tax Home
Take Me to My return
My Info in the Black on the left
Scroll down to her name
click delete next to her name
