Why do I have to pay additional medicare Tax-$115.00 per turbo in Form 8959? Medicare Taxes were already withheld per W2s(3)total medicare wages $262,763.00?

Form 8959 has a maximum amount $250,000.for joint filers. What does this mean? difference $12763.00 is multiplied by .009 instead .0145? Why I'm now considered as self employed?

Everyone pays it on income over a certain level.  It's supposed to be paying for the Affordable Care Act.

There are additional Medicare taxes for high earners.  Most employers do not withhold the full amount if you fall into the high earner category.   Please see IRS website https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/questions-and-answers-for-the-addition....

You do not need to be self-employed to owe this extra tax - it also applies to wages.

Quote from IRS website "Additional Medicare Tax went into effect in 2013 and applies to wages, compensation, and self-employment income above a threshold amount received in taxable years beginning after December 31, 2012."
