Are you filing separate returns?   If you are filing MFS, why is your wife's IP PIN on your tax return?

filing jointly, and hers were accepted! the message just says rejected because of spouses IP # is incorrect; in-spite of hers being fixed with the correct numbers now.

This is confusing.   Saying "my wife's taxes get accepted, but mine are getting rejected"  sounds like you are filing separate returns.    If you are filing jointly, there are no "wife's taxes"  and  "mine" --- it is all one tax return and it is either being accepted or rejected.     Do you have everything on ONE Form 1040----with all of your information, all of your income, etc. combined?

So you are filing MFJ?    And the e-file is being rejected for an IP PIN?   Do you have an IP PIN?

Make sure you enter her IP PIN in the correct spot in TurboTax. You should also enter the IP PIN that was given to her for this year.

To enter it go to the "Federal Tax" tab, select "Other Tax Situations", and choose the "IP PIN" section. Enter the correct IP PIN information and then resubmit your return. If you need to get your IP PIN:

  • Visit the IRS's Get an IP PIN site, or
  • Call the IRS at 1-800-908-4490 to have your IP PIN mailed to you (this can take up to 21 days)

If your issue continues, you might have to print and mail your return.
